Income that protects the savanna
Promoting income-generating activities as alternatives to human pressure on natural resources is one of SOS Savane's areas of work. It aims to improve the livelihoods of people living in savanna areas, especially the most vulnerable.
Our work focuses on adding value to NTFPs (non-timber forest products), food processing, market gardening and fish farming. In Tanguiéta, for example, the women of the Wankanéki group received a new production site and training in building vegetable beds and fish ponds.
In total, 7,500 people have been trained in income-generating activities.
